Living Boldly
|

As I began praying about this year, one word kept coming to mind: Bold. I felt God continually pressing this word on my heart as a reminder of how He is calling us to live and lead in this season.
|
|
Our theme verse that captures this calling is 1 Corinthians 16:13:
|
|
|
|
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
|
|
|
This verse became the theme for our Pitt State FCA Game Day, and it perfectly reflects the kind of faith we are encouraging in the coaches and athletes we serve. Bold faith isn’t about being loud or fearless on our own—it’s about standing firm in Christ, trusting Him, and stepping forward when He calls.
|
|
In a world where athletes and coaches face pressure, expectations, and constant noise, we want them to know they can live differently. They can stand firm in their faith, be courageous in their character, and be strong in the Lord.
|
|
This year my prayer is simple: that God would help us live boldly for Him—bold in sharing the Gospel, bold in encouraging coaches and athletes, and bold in trusting God to move in ways only He can.
|
|
Thank you for being part of this ministry and helping reach the world of sports for Jesus Christ. Your partnership makes it possible to continue stepping forward in faith and living boldly together.

Student Spotlight:
Andrew Branson, Pittsburg State University Baseball
|
|
|
|
If you want to understand what God is doing through FCA at Pittsburg State, look at the life of Andrew Branson. A senior infielder from St. James, Missouri, Andrew has earned three letters during his college career — but it’s his leadership, not just his athletic ability, that has left a mark on campus.
|
|
Faith + Athletics = Culture Change
|
|
Andrew says FCA has shaped both his personal walk with Christ and the environment within Pitt State athletics.
|
“FCA has greatly influenced me and our campus because it really brings faith and sports together,” he shared. “It has created a great culture within the athletics here at Pittsburg State. Everyone does a great job of surrounding and encouraging each other. We now have an environment that can really spark change, especially with the platform that we are given as student‑athletes.”
|
For Andrew, FCA isn’t just a weekly meeting — it’s a community that strengthens, supports, and challenges one another to live out their faith boldly.
|
|
Growing as a Leader in Christ
|
|
Stepping into FCA leadership has stretched Andrew in meaningful ways.
|
“As an FCA leader, it has really pushed me to grow my faith to be in a position to help others do the same,” he said.
|
One verse has stayed at the front of his mind:
|
“Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” — James 3:1
|
Andrew carries that responsibility with humility, knowing that leadership means both influence and accountability.
|
|
What God Is Teaching Him Right Now
|
|
In this season, Andrew senses God shaping his heart in a very specific way.
|
“Right now I feel like God is teaching me to trust Him more and to not worry about the future or rely on my own understanding or plans,” he said. “As well as the importance of consistency in my faith, especially at this point in my life.”
|
It’s a lesson that resonates deeply with student‑athletes navigating pressure, expectations, and the unknowns of life after college.
|
|
A Leader Worth Celebrating
|
Whether he’s anchoring the infield, leading a huddle, or encouraging a teammate, Andrew Branson reflects the kind of Christ‑centered leadership that strengthens FCA and inspires those around him. His faith, consistency, and willingness to grow make him a standout example of what it means to compete — and live — for Christ.
